When is Dundee Open in 2017?
Dundee Open will run from 14-16 July 2017 at Dundee Ice Arena. The closing date for entry is Friday, 16 June 2017 at 1700.
When will the timetable be available?
We hope to make the timetable for the open available the week beginning Monday 19 June. Until this date we will have no idea when you are due to skate.

Is there parking on site?
Yes, there is ample free parking in front of and behind the rink.
Facilities at the Rink?
The rink has a skating related shop for any last minute emergencies, selling a range of skatewear including lots of tights. Skate sharpening is also available at a cost of £5
There is also a cafe at the rink where hot food, light snacks, and drinks can be purchased.
Also on the industrial park is a chain pub (with soft play), McDonalds and KFC, Ashoka Shak, and a Cinema.
We will also have 2-3 craft stalls, selling beautiful handmade goods over the weekend.
Is there a Cash Machine at the rink?
The nearest cash point can be found at Tesco or Asda, about a mile from the rink, so come prepared!
Where can I stay?
Dundee offers a mix of accommodation suiting most budgets.
There is a Premier Inn on site which is Dundee North. This is attached to a chain pub, which has a soft play.
Alternatively Dundee West is less than a mile away from the rink, with newly built accommodation and a Beefeater Grill attached.
The Hilton Doubletree, is just under three miles from the rink and offers a greater range of facilities including a swimming pool and gym. However can be noisy, especially on the ground floor, so request a first floor room.
For a more luxurious night’s sleep, try Malmaison in the city centre, 3.5 miles from the rink.
How much is entry to the Dundee Open for Spectators?
Entry is free for all competitors and coaches for the duration of the Open. One parents or guardian will also gain free access on the day their child skates. Spectators are £3 per day with Concessions £2. We will not have card facilities.
Will there be a Photographer?
Yes, we have booked an on-ice photographer to cover the event. Printed images can be purchased on the day (cash only), and all images are later uploaded to their website, from which you can purchase prints or digital images.
Can I take my own photographs at the event?
It is against NISA regulations to photograph or video your child or friends during their skate. If you choose to ignore this rule, and are caught, you could be asked to leave the rink, and your child disqualified. Photographs of Podium shots are permitted.
Will there be a DVD?
Yes, the DVD of your skating group will be available for purchase on the day from the registration desk.
Can I purchase a Dundee Open 2017 Hoodie or T-shirt?
You can order your Hoodie or T-shirt prior to the event through the Ice Topp Sport website (link not yet available). Hoodies will be £25. T-shirts will cost £10. Order in advance and collect on the day you skate.
Please ensure that your music is in CD format and is clearly labelled with your name, category and length of music. You should hand it in at the reception desk at least 30 minutes before your category is due to start. Failure to register at least 30 minutes before your Category starts could result in you being disqualified. Please arrive in ample time as the timetable is subject to change. You should ensure your coach has a spare copy of the music.
Is Practice Ice available?
Unfortunately we are not able to offer practice ice for the event this year.
